It's that time again. Time for frilly pastel dresses, fluffy dollar store bunny ears, eating chocolate until you burst, and of course, chaotic egg hunts. Yes, Easter has already begun in the Baxter household. We kicked off the holiday with a family lunch and party at a local park. Ethan, Mai, and Adam all grabbed their baskets to frantically search bushes, trees, picnic tables, and the like for the fabled plastic egg filled with processed sugar treats. They were not disappointed. Aaron's siblings planned a very fun time for the kids. But perhaps none were quite as excited about the surprise hidden in each egg as was little Adam. He attacked his basket with fervor, desperately trying to fill his mouth with anything sweet before mom or dad ruined his fun by sticking their finger into his mouth to pull out a soggy jelly bean or "whopper" egg. Poor little fella, maybe next year you can have a full piece of candy. For now, we must first break your candy into smaller, less chokeable pieces.
With sugar rushing through our veins, lauding the inevitable belly aches to come, we played a rousing game of kickball. The cones were set just far enough apart that the runner would get exercise enough to momentarily forget the sniffling and sneezing that comes with each allergy season. Ah, SPRING!
We had a great time. Thanks to family who made it so fun! We love you! Happy Easter everyone!
