When Maille's Mother is asked what Maille would like for her birthday, the answer always seems to surprise the recipient, "What she would probably like the most would be a ninja sword, Kung Fu classes, action figure, biker gloves, guitar hero...or, a pony would be nice."
A couple of days before her birthday party, Maille noticed a preschool friend passing by the house and yelled out from the porch, "Are you coming to my birthday party? Yes? I'd like a bow and arrow set that they have over at Macy's (Grocery Store)."
She did receive a Tinker Bell hand held video game, which required her and her dad to go online and create her own personal fairy. After all was said and done in cyber world, the name she chose for her new found feminine friend...
Lavender Speed Storm.
Maille The Original has her own way of thinking and dressing. It doesn't matter if she has a brand new outfit from Children's Place with butterflies and lace just waiting to be worn, she chooses the old jeans with holes in them and an over sized 'Handy Man' T shirt with a tool box on the front. She would rather wear an old beat up pair of sandals she's found in Grandma Cahoon's coat closet, then wear her nice white keds. She will put on the occasional skirt for preschool and wearing dresses to church is commonplace. Dance Tutus are acceptable while on stage, but more often then not, comfort and originality trump white pressed and poised.
And now you can see her this past year, blazing the trail for all future four years olds to follow.

That's exactly what I was thinking. What a beautiful girl. This child is going to go far!
I'm sorry I didn't hear her B-day order sooner.
