Girls & Boys 'N Berries

 A dream...it was all a magical dream.
Imagine a deep blue sky with puffs of white, floating clouds, blanketing rows and rows of green, wandering vines of sweet, yet tart, bursts of Oregon Summer.  If you've imagined it correctly, you'll find yourself with the Baxter family last Saturday, as they lost themselves in pastures of raspberries, blackberries, loganberries, marionberries and especially...boysenberries.
As the first, plump berry hit the bottom of each of our baskets, we knew we were off to a wonderland of sticky, crimson stained fingers and faces.  A day of berry bliss.
Adam picked a beautiful assortment of black, purple, red and green berries.  Maille picked the "Holy Moly that's the most biggest boysenberry ever", berry.  And Ethan, like his mother, couldn't stop his fingers from plucking hundreds of mini clusters of juice filled balloons, hidden under canopies of prickly vine.  Daddy and Baby Jay were quality control and snooze patrol during our outing in the patch.
After all was said and done, over 20 lbs of boysenberries came home with us, bound for the homemade jelly jar and breakfast buffet table.

Twenty pounds of sweet, messy, whimsical fun.

Next week...blueberry dreams!
